Frequently Asked Questions

Are fire system inspections mandatory every year?
Yes. Quebec regulations require an annual inspection of your fire protection systems to obtain your compliance certificate. Without this certification, your establishment may be subject to formal notices from the relevant authorities.
Do I need to correct deficiencies identified during the inspection?
Yes. To obtain your compliance certificate, all deficiencies noted in the inspection report must be corrected. We can carry out these corrections and issue your certificate once the work is completed.
Which areas of my building need to be inspected?
All areas containing fire protection equipment—particularly those connected to the fire alarm panel. In residential buildings, dwelling units are also visited, as they may contain equipment such as smoke alarms, audible signals, sprinkler heads (visual inspection), speakers, or detectors.
Do you handle service calls?
Yes. Depending on the urgency, we can guide you over the phone or come to you directly, even outside of regular business hours.
Do you carry out corrections requested by fire departments?
Yes. We respond to correction requests issued by fire departments, travel to assess the required work, and provide you with a detailed quote.
What types of buildings do you service?
We work in both residential and commercial sectors: apartment buildings, condominiums, office buildings, retail spaces, warehouses, and industrial facilities, in Greater Montréal, Lanaudière and the Laurentians.
Do fire extinguishers and hoses also need to be inspected annually?
Yes. Fire extinguishers must undergo an annual inspection. Maintenance for these must take place every 3, 5, or 6 years depending on the model, along with a hydrostatic test every 5 or 12 years, also depending on the model. Fire hoses also require an annual inspection as well as maintenance every 3 years to remain compliant.
